Breeding Westfalia Terriers is efficiency breeding, which is organized in the ''Association of Breeders and Friends of the Westfalia Terrier'' (or VZFWT e.V. for short).The association is the union of all those who conduct breeding of Westfalia Terriers for hunting purposes, or who are involved in the preservation and support of breeding in any way at all. This association supports efforts to breed Westfalia Terriers and strict adherence to breeding standards with respect to the purity of the breed and to efficiency.
Other aims of the association are preserving the original character of the breed and keeping up its hunting traits to allow adherence to the principles of good huntsmanship, so as not to impair the welfare of game.
The association is represented throughout the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany, and is being directed by an executive committee.
It is organized along regional lines in groups which directly represent their members and coordinate the activities of the working groups. These groups conduct training and dog trial activities in agreement with the regional executive boards and in accordance with the association's hunting trial-regulations (VZFWT trial regulations).
The VZFWT association currently has 394 members (as of 03/ 01/2007). The Westfalia Terrier is being bred in 70 registered kennels.

Und wieder weinte der Himmel über Bayern !!!!Am 25.09.2010 fand in Bayern die 5.Zucht und Anlageprüfung
statt.
Gemeldet waren acht Gespanne,die trotz strömenden Regen
auch alle angetreten sind.
Nach kurzer Besprechung ging es gleich ab in das ansonsten
hervorragende Hasenrevier.Dort angekommen mussten wir feststellen,dass es eher einer Seenlandschaft glich als
einem Hasenrevier.
Dementsprechend lange dauerte es bis wir alle Hunde an die Hasen gebracht hatten.Sowohl den Vierbeinern als auch allen
beteiligten Zweibeinern wurde alles abverlangt.
Anschliessend ging es weiter zur Wasserarbeit bzw.an die
Schliefanlage.
Trotz widrigster Wetterverhältnisse waren Hunde und Führer
immer noch bereit auch diese Hürden zu nehmen.
Dann ging es auf schnellstem Wege zum Prüfungslokal,wo alle
Beteiligten trocken gelegt wurden.
Nach Auswertung der Ergebnisse konnten ein erster Preis,
dieser ging wieder einmal nach Österreich, an Peter Geier
mit "Acci vom Hirschwappen" und zwei zweite Preise sowie drei dritte Preise verliehen werden.
Besonders gefreut hat uns,dass Frau Rüter und Herr Rüter
den weiten Weg auf sich nahmen um bei unserer Prüfung als Richter teilzunehmen.

Danken möchte ich ebenso allen Beteiligten die an der Vorbereitung zur Prüfung mitgewikt haben.
